Community Meals Programs

Tuesdays – The Dining Room Mission

The Dining Room Mission (TDRM) is a community meal and support service for struggling families and homeless people, especially in the City of Maroondah. It is located in the Fellowship Room at St John the Divine Anglican Church, Toorak Ave Croydon.

TDRM opened its door’s at St John’s in 2005 and since then it has continued to operate every Tuesday of the year.

Guests enjoy a substantial nutritious two-course meal every Tuesday evening from 5pm – 6.30pm. In addition the program provides supportive relationships, prayer with a volunteer if requested, and information about Government and City of Maroondah community services.

TDR Mission is staffed by enthusiastic volunteers from a variety of backgrounds and experiences.

Wednesdays – The Winter Shelter

Winter Shelter is a Maroondah area program supported by many local churches to provide places to sleep for homeless men
during winter. Although covid regulations during 2020 & 2021 restricted the program, it has continued – still under the name of Winter Shelter – and now offers community meals from St John’s every Wedenesday.
